Explanation
General
Particularly when searching in databases dating back from before 1811, users are advised to use the standardised names from the names thesaurus. Use the place-name database to locate the Frisian towns and cities.
Start your search by entering a name or a combination of names, or enter at least the first two letters followed by an asterisk (*). It is possible to combine the name with the name of the municipality and/or a year.

Baptisms
In view of increased public demand for baptism details from the DTB period (before 1812) entered by the FAF/VAF, we have decided to make this information available in digital form, with certain reservations.
As a provisional version, the file may contain typing errors and structural imperfections. Also the names thesaurus works only partially, since first names and patronymics have not (or incorrectly) been entered, etc.
As a result of (well-intentioned) family reconstructions, some of the volunteers have entered additional names that are not part of the deeds. That is neither necessarily correct nor incorrect.
Marriages
Details in the marriages before 1812 database come from both ecclesiastical and judicial sources.
Burials
This database contains information on deaths and burials from various sources, such as 'burial books', 'registers of deceased persons', 'registers of impost on burials', diaconate account books, etc. All such details have been combined into one database, briefly called 'Burials'.
The comment made under baptisms also goes for the 'Burials' database. This database is also not yet complete and correct. The thesaurus link is also far from perfect.
N.B.: The burials databases may occasionally contain details from 1812 and later. The Seerijp churchyard on the isle of Terschelling even quotes a burial from 1911!
Lidmaten
